Workshops for all skill levels, ages, and accessibilities

The fabric collective is ending…

Last chance for workshops this fall! I’m moving on to different things and will be closing the Winnipeg Sews studio in December 2024. No classes or events are planned for 2025.

LEARN TO SEW!

We’re on a mission to share the joy of sewing.

We’ve been refining our workshops since 2018 and we’re pumped about how they all fit together while maintaining their integrity as stand alone classes. Our small class sizes (4-6) ensure that everyone has the opportunity to ask questions and build a rapport between participants.

NOTES:
- You’ll need to provide your own fabric and pattern for almost all our classes. Please refer to the description and it will show you what you’ll learn and what’s included.
- To register for a class, click the class you’d like and then click “Select” for the way you’d like to register (Drop-In or a Package).
You’ll need to create or sign into your Team Up account and then you can pay online. You’ll receive an email confirmation and a reminder email the day before your workshop.
- Our workshops are non-refundable unless we cancel so please make sure you register for a time that works for your schedule.

Beginner Classes are appropriate for those who have taken our Hello Machine class or who know how to thread their machine, wind a bobbin, change stitches and are comfortable with their machine. We don’t include detailed machine explanation in any beginner classes except Hello Machine.

Skills classes are appropriate for those who want to learn a specific skill in relation to their larger sewing practice. Whether it’s knits, seam finishes or measuring, let’s do a deep dive into one subject! You should be able to maintain a precise seam allowance to succeed in these classes.

We have kids sewing series and summer camps for ages 7-13+. Our kids sewing series are different in each age bracket and each session has new projects to build your child’s confidence and allow your child to advance to more complicated projects as they learn.

Intermediate Classes are appropriate for those who have made a few projects and are knowledgeable about their machine, can maintain seam allowance and are ready for a new challenge. You should be able to cut and sew independently to get the most out of these classes.
