Thursday Tip with Hali - Iron your Patterns

Thursday Tip // Did you know you can iron paper?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well, you certainly can! You can get the majority of creases out of your paper or tissue patterns using your iron to press on a dry, low heat setting. Getting the wrinkles or large creases out keeps your pattern pieces true to size so they match up accurately when you sew. Just be wary that you don’t iron directly over tape! Put another piece of paper between the taped side and the iron to avoid gumming up your iron. And, if you have a temperamental iron like me (Hali) you may want to empty the water out first so you don’t get any surprise drips like I did. (See AFTER picture, bottom left corner).
